“WEST COAST FEST”
West Coast Hip-Hop Icons and Fastest Rising Newcomers Unite in Los Angeles for a Live Celebration
LOS ANGELES, CA (March 19, 2013) – Diehard West Coast Hip-Hop fans will undoubtedly witness history at “West Coast Fest,” an inaugural musical event meshing the game’s most influential icons and hottest newcomers including headliners DJ Quik and E-40, joined by Too $hort, Warren G, Mack 10, Baby Bash, Clyde Carson, Problem and Skeme, with many surprise appearances. Hosted by Big Boy,
Power 106 FM’s morning show celebrity voice, the first event of its
kind will seamlessly bridge the gap between Northern and Southern
California’s major West Coast superstars, with an evening of live
performances of the biggest hit songs to come from the West. The
highly-anticipated show will take place Thursday, March 21, 2013 at Club Nokia located at 800 West Olympic Boulevard in Los Angeles.
“We
want to give Los Angeles an amazing package with all of these
influential artists in one night. I’m excited. I’ve been booking West
Coast artists all around the world for a decade now, and it’s a great
feeling to be able to have these artists I’ve grown up listening to, all
perform under one roof,” explains Jamie Adler, West Coast Fest’s
Executive Producer. In late 2012, Adler set the wheels in motion for
this inaugural event citing a lack of shows with the purpose of uniting
artists who have impacted the rap game for years with those making a new
waves in the industry.
“These
newcomers they deserve a shot to make it, so to have them perform with
us shows us we didn’t waste our team making history with original West
Coast Hip-Hop. We’re not trying to conform – we want to
stay original and iconic. This will be a first to do this with all of
these superstars in one show,” notes headliner DJ Quik, who will
perform a one-man show. The influential artist plans to unveil new
material including a new record titled “Burnin Up” featuring Mack 10.
Bay
Area Ambassador and Hip-Hop trailblazer E-40 promises a unique show for
West Cost fans: “You’re gonna to get a bit of vintage of E-40 and a
little bit of current E-40 and I’m gonna mix that thang up like gumbo;
hello hello,” says E-40.
