A conventional music-world biopic in outline, but intensely human and personal in its characterizations and attention to detail. Full review
    Scott Foundas·Variety
The film does for the most part fulfill its mission, breathing life into the origin story of a group whose influence is still being felt. Full review
    John DeFore·Hollywood Reporter
Straight Outta Compton aims to cross cultures and sanctify the wisdom of the street—to make a universal underdog story. It succeeds on a visceral level. Full review
    David Edelstein·Vulture
But what stands is an amazement, an electrifying piece of hip-hop history that speaks urgently to right now. Full review
    Peter Travers·Rolling Stone
Straight Outta Compton covers a lot of ground in recounting N.W.A.'s story. It begins and ends on high notes, though it loses its way in the middle. Full review
    Nick Romano·Cinemablend
Straight Outta Compton hurtles toward greatness only to fall short in execution. Yet, aiming high and falling short still results in a very good film. Full review

N.W.A. always got right to the point with its music, so I'll do the same: Simply put, Straight Outta Compton is among the harshest films we've ever reviewed. Full review

It simplifies N.W.A.’s arc to a gangster-movie knock-off about three friends from way back when who get driven apart by bad influences. Full review

It is no secret that before Mathew Knowles was a Grammy Award-winning executive producer, he was Xerox's top sales executive, worldwide. Also not hidden from the mainstream are rumors about his keen marksmanship when it comes to helping artists hit targets of success. He has strategized superstar careers-not just for himself, but also for what appears to be his entire bloodline and other top acts. After more than 23 years of music moguling, what is newly worthy of the media's attention is his explosive new publication, "The DNA of Achievers: 10 Traits of Highly Successful Professionals" (Music World Publishing, 2015). The book is an Amazon #1 best-seller even before its official release. Why such an early fervor? Many come compelled by the book's description: the 10 traits of successful people (Passion, Work Ethics, Vision, Risk-Takers, Team Building,
Talk-To-Do Ratio, Planning, Learning from Failure, Giving Back, and Thinking Outside the Box), and curious about the experiences of Mathew Knowles and others.
If any questions do arise over why to pick Knowles' book from the plentiful
shelves of th
e 11 billion doll
ar self-help industry, the information shared by the achievers highlighted should answer them. Starting with Knowles' own
from his days with Xerox, leading over 250 marketing and sales seminars,to his impact felt around the globe through
award-winning, legendary musi
c icons, and top catalog compilations.
Under his leadership, his
company Music World Entertainment grew into one of the world's leading conglomerates, with record sales exceeding 300 million.
There is also the human-interest appeal to grab readers: Knowles shares a journey that starts in Gadsden, Alabama with parents who were entrepreneurs from the 1960's, who instilled the enterprising work ethic he has made legendary. He also walks you through intelligent discussions on the impact of poverty and racism, on into what tools he has used to overcome. His authority on the subject of success
becomes clear after a while, and the final question becomes how much of what is highlighted in the book will rub off on the reader. What they will find is information designed for anyone looking to reach previously untouched heights.
Music comers are certainly going to wonder if Knowles will dispense any
rticular gems from his double-decade
plus knowledge bank, and they will not be disappointed. The title of the book might appear to hint that success is indeed a trait woven into the genetic make-up of some high achievers, giving them a predisposed edge. For anyone trying to find a way to get their own shot at excellence, Knowles' book helps to breakdown the traits, and points out how to integrate them into your life.  He dispels the myth that you have to own your own business to be termed an entrepreneur, rather he explains, "An entrepreneur is really a headset-it's a belief. So even as an employee I felt I was an entrepreneur in my approach, more so than a salesperson."  Although such a visionary appears fueled by pure determination, Knowles is quick to point out that the electrifying element that ignites him is something more, stating, "The beginning of this DNA, the root of being an achiever is based on passion."
"The DNA of Achievers: 10 Traits of Highly Successful Professionals"is itself a passionately rendered, blueprint for hitting the high notes of success in any industry. The worldwide release happens October 15, 2015, (*with additional phase II presales opportunities coming in the interim). Meanwhile anxious readers can take away this inspirational nugget from Knowles about the primordial ingredient to it all:"The beginning of being an achiever is solely based on one's passion, because it starts right there. You can have all the other traits-in fact, they don't work without it. My philosophy is..."If you live in passion, you never work another day in your life."  To self-help readers curious about if what he will deliver is another trick, mastered by the clever; or if the methods of unraveling the DNA of the entrepreneurial mind offer the ultimate keys to self-empowerment, Knowles says the answer is quite simple-"Read the book!"
*Knowles is offering a special treat where, on a limited basis, you can get a free autographed, first-edition paperback book by going to  or go to Amazon for your pre-sale Kindle e-book.

Lisa “Left Eye” Lopes’ protegé is back on the scene with a hot new video and an even more inspiring story of survival

VIDEO: “Drop It Down” – T’Melle

ATLANTA, GA (Aug. 19, 2015) – R&B singer, songwriter and dancer and Hip Hop’s newly-minted “Bad Girl,” T’Melle, returns to the spotlight with a sultry new video for her mid-tempo single “Drop It Down.” The Philly-born, Atlanta-raised artist got her start as the protegé of TLC superstar Lisa “Left Eye Lopes,” but suffered near death injuries as a passenger in the fatal crash that took her mentor’s life.  In a recent interview, T’Melle unveiled what happened just before that crash and her unstoppable struggle to walk, run and now dance again. What the doctors said would never happen…DID.

“I'm the girl that still had hope when life took a turn. After a tragic car accident I was told I might never run or dance again. Losing “Left Eye,” the person I looked up to, who impacted the world, was one of the hardest things I've ever been through! I'm the girl that people told to quit and that this wasn't going to happen for me. I'm the girl who’s been told ‘No’ way more than the word yes! I believed! I still believe!” T’Melle proudly says.  “I represent Survival, Determination and Empowerment! And I say it through my music! I'm the person who motivates people like I motivated myself, to never give up! My music speaks volumes with my message and edgy R&G (Rhythm and Gangsta) content!

As a teen, T’Melle moved to Atlanta to pursue her solo career and has worked with producers the likes of Usher Raymond, Tricky Stewart, Bryan Cox, and Rodney Jenkins. Now T’Melle takes over the summer with her sexy new single, “Drop it Down,” giving her fans just a taste of what new music is to come.  “[This is] a feel good video that moves you and put's you in a 90's feel where people hung out at the playground to get away from their problems. It’s about different age groups getting together and uniting but also how life can change in a minute all from a bad decision and what's going on in the world today!” the Philly native says.

Get To Know T'Melle on Instagram and Twitter: @ItsTMelle and stay tuned for more new music and visuals coming soon.

“There couldn’t be a more timely show than “Cops and Robbers,” Jinho “The Piper” Ferreira’s contemporary, one-man exploration of an officer-involved shooting in Oakland.” — SF Examiner

Cops and Robbers is a revolutionary look into the dysfunctional relationship between law enforcement, the media, and the Black community. Cops and Robbers takes no prisoners as it challenges the viewer to question all preconceived notions of “right” and “wrong.”

Jinho “Piper” Ferreira is an actor, playwright, screenwriter, rapper and police officer from Oakland, California. A founding member of Interscope Records alt-hip-hop group Flipsyde who toured internationally and boasts several multi-million-view videos on YouTube.  As a screenwriter he’s been awarded by The Tribeca Film Festival.  Having witnessed Oakland protests resulting from The BART Police shooting of Oscar Grant the rapper made a bold move and became a cop in hopes to become part of the solution from within.  After one year of living with the paradox of being a member of the Black community, an artist with multiple interests, and working day in, day out as a cop, the rapper / writer was inspired to write and act in his play “Cops And Robbers.”  He himself plays the role of all 18 characters in this “one man tour de force” that now plays to sold out theaters in The Bay Area and Universities nationally.  Recognition of his work as an actor and writer for the play is rapidly growing and includes praise from Newsweek, The New York Times, NPR’s Forum, The San Francisco Chronicle and SF Weekly.
